The Clingman and Pepper Family Projects
We know you’ve all been looking forward to more news on our current Carrington House projects, including a new home for Jesse Clingman and his family, and a refurbishment of a home for Jason Pepper and his family. Things are moving along nicely for both homes, and it looks like both families will be moving in soon.
In our last update, we shared that the Carrington House team had poured the foundation for the garage addition that would be added to the Clingman family home, and that they had demoed the interior of the main house. According to Brandon Nicholas, VP of Carrington Development Company, the Clingman’s home is being drywalled this week. Once the drywall is complete, they’ll then install cabinets, sinks, faucets and flooring.
The Clingman project is a remodeling of an existing three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath property into a five-bedroom, three-bathroom home for this family of seven. “We’re updating the master bathroom, remodeling it so it’s handicap accessible for a wheelchair,” Brandon explains. “We’ve redone the shower and bathroom area so they all have turnaround room for a wheelchair. Then, we’re adding two bedrooms in the existing garage, expanding a bathroom where the bedrooms are going to be, and because we’re taking the garage space with extra bedrooms, we’re adding a garage with a workshop area for Jesse.”
After a thorough planning and design process, the team went to work building a layout that was easily accessible for Jesse, with the kids’ bedrooms on the first floor and a garage expansion that allowed for a workshop and two cars. The Clingmans say they can’t wait to see their new home. “They’re overjoyed, and they’re following up every day,” says Brandon. “And because they live so close to the home, they drive by every day to see how it’s coming along.”
As for the Pepper house, it’s in the final stages of completion. The original plan was to remodel different areas of the home to make it easier for Jason access, including putting in hardwood floors and expanding the master bath with a more open floor plan, allowing for a bench in the shower and grab bars for stability. The Carrington House team also installed a generator and graded out the backyard to ensure adequate drainage.
We’re pleased to share that the Pepper project is nearly complete, with only a few remaining items on the renovation list. As you can imagine, the Pepper family is eager to see the finished product, and it looks like they’re close to seeing their renovation dreams come to fruition.
With the Pepper home nearly complete, the Carrington House team is planning to have the home finished by the end of August. Meanwhile, the Clingman home is on track for completion in October. We’re so happy to be helping these wonderful families, and the brave Veterans who sacrificed so much to protect our country and its freedoms. We’ll share more news soon of each home’s completion and each family’s move-in.
