Miles Save Lives with Run Ranger Run

January 18, 2018

Can you run, bike, walk or swim 565 miles in the 28 days of February? With teamwork we can do anything! Divided among a team of 10, chalking up a mere two miles a day of physical activity in February is enough to complete this year’s Run Ranger Run, the annual fundraiser for GallantFew, the nonprofit whose mission for Veterans is “to facilitate a peaceful, successful transition from military service to a civilian life filled with hope and purpose.”

In past years, Carrington has supported an external team participating in the Run Ranger Run event, but this year, instead of just adding financial contributions, it’s our turn to move, sweat and fundraise for the cause. Ask friends to sponsor you with as little as 50 cents/mile you run.

Each Carrington department/office that decides to participate will have a chance to represent Carrington during this special virtual run/walk/bike-a-thon. Teams can recruit friends and co-workers to help fulfill the 565 miles that need to be completed and documented in February. You don’t even have to do the miles together; just log your miles individually from your home or gym as they add up. Send weekly updates on the mile totals finished by you and your team members to Shelly Lawrence, Executive Director of Community Relations for Carrington Charitable Foundation. You’ll also track your fundraising totals on the Run Ranger Run website.

For each mile completed by your team, the CCF Board of Directors has pledged to donate $5 per mile. And for each additional $1,000 of fundraising your team does, the CCF Board will donate $500 to your team. A total grant cap for this event has been approved at $50,000, together we can reach this total! The team with the highest fundraising amount at the end of February will win special prizes from CCF.

GallantFew is one of our favorite charities, and has long been supported by the Carrington Charitable Foundation.

Get the names of your team members to Shelly Lawrence by January 26, so everyone is ready to be part of Run Ranger Run by February 1.
