CCF Virtual Wine Tasting Raised $39,000 for its Gold Star Family Housing Initiative
Carrington Charitable Foundation hosted its first ever Virtual Wine Tasting event on June 30, 2021. The very special, limited-ticket event offered 85 guests an opportunity to taste some amazing French Burgundy wines picked by Bruce and Rosemary Rose, as well as the chance to hear about a new Carrington House initiative supported by CCF.
Hosted by Evan Tenaglia of North Berkley Wine Imports and Carrington’s very own Troy Smith, former Director of Beverages of The Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, CA, the online get-together raised $39,000 for the new Gold Star Family Housing Initiative, an extension of CCF’s Stability pillar.
Everyone who joined the virtual event received a box of three bottles of French Burgundy wine, fact sheets to refer to during the wine tasting, a CCF packet with information on the new Gold Star Family Housing initiative and a special gift from CCF.
Since its inception, the Stability pillar of the CCF’s mantra of Mobility, Stability, Purpose and Prosperity has focused on making sure catastrophically wounded Veterans and their families have a home they can call their own, and begin to heal and feel independent.
After a recent introduction to Mike Hayes, former Commander of U.S. Navy SEAL Team Two, CCF identified a new housing initiative to support: paying off the mortgages of struggling Gold Star families. CCF and The Carrington Companies are a perfect fit to assist in this mission utilizing the relationships within the mortgage industry and the foundation’s experience in fundraising for Veteran housing and mortgage initiatives. Working together with Mike, The Carrington Companies and CCF can make a huge difference in the lives of these struggling Gold Star families by giving them a place to forever call home, relieved of the economic burden of a mortgage.
