You are Making a Difference

December 19, 2017

Every time you donate to CCF, your dollars make a difference in someone’s life, or in the life of an animal companion. All the donations to CCF during 2017 have enabled us to improve hundreds, if not thousands of lives, throughout the communities in which we live and work. In review of 2017, here are some of the amazing things we accomplished together:

CCF Fundraisers
The inaugural CCF Gala welcomed our business partners, friends, family and donors on June 3 at the Belle Haven Club in Greenwich, CT. The 2017 Gala raised more than $575,000 to support our Signature Programs for Veterans returning home from service and their families.

The Carrington Charitable Foundation Annual Golf Classic took place on Oct. 9 at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, CA. And as it does every year since 2011, the tournament honors Veterans and their families. Proceeds from this year’s tournament raised more than $1.9 million for CCF's Signature Programs that help provide Mobility, Stability, Purpose and Prosperity for Veterans returning from post-9/11 battlefields. Next year’s tournament takes place on Oct. 8, 2018.

Where we lent a hand
This holiday season, CCF supported Toys for Tots, the CASA Holiday Donation Campaign, Santa Cops, and other holiday-related causes. October marked our annual dedication to Breast Cancer Awareness charities, and this year we donated $10,000 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in support of breast cancer research.

On Oct. 7, Carrington Associates from our Westfield, IN, location took part in Light the Night, a 1.5-mile walk founded by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). In 2017, CCF became a title sponsor by donating $25,000 to the event, and CCF and Carrington Mortgage Services co-hosted a booth at the event.

Our August charitable initiative focused on Animal Awareness, Shelters and Care campaigns. CCF donated $5,000 to five different charities in Texas and Florida that are dedicated to helping animals affected by devastation caused by the 2017 hurricanes.

To support Military Awareness Month in July, the annual Boxes for Our Troops campaign collected nearly 2,400 care packages for active duty service members deployed around the world. The 2017 challenge was the most successful in the event’s eight-year history, and more than doubled the 2016 total of 1,008 boxes.

One thing that’s so wonderful about working at Carrington is how our Associates commit to charitable initiatives, going above and beyond what’s expected to help serve their communities. Our Westfield, IN, Associates have been hard at work in 2017. In mid-May, members of the Westfield Customer Service team helped out at Damar Services in Indianapolis. Also in mid-May, Associates on the Westfield Customer Service team volunteered at the Humane Society of Hamilton County. And in late May, another group of Westfield Customer Service Associates volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House.

In April, Carrington Aviation transported Veterans who were competing in the race with the Achilles Freedom Team, including one of our CCF Ambassadors, Master Sgt. John Masson. In total, Team Achilles hosted 38 athletes, 27 of whom were wounded, ill and injured Veterans. Carrington helped transport four passengers to and from the marathon, including combat-wounded Veteran Master Sgt. John Masson, who is a triple amputee.

In March, the Working Wardrobes VetNet “Walk in Their Shoes” 5k walk and fun run benefits men, women, Veterans and young adults working to overcome life challenges, including substance abuse, domestic violence, incarceration, homelessness, illness and financial loss. Carrington Associates from Southern California contributed a total of $1,240 to the organization, with the CCF board matching $100 per walker, sending an additional $3,500 to Working Wardrobes and VetNet!

CCF has gifted GallantFew more than $40,000 in donations during the past five years, but in February we wanted to give even to support for one of our own: In support of CCF Ambassador Michael Schlitz’s Run Ranger Run campaign this past February, CCF pledged $24,500 to GallantFew.

Those are just a few of the many examples of ways Associates and CCF are making a difference. There was so much more good work accomplished by Associates this year, and we know 2018 will bring more of the same. We’re proud to say that during 2017 CCF donated just short of $97,000 to worthy causes.

And don’t forget that it’s easy for everyone to do good all year long: Amazon gives you the option to donate a portion of your purchase to a worthy cause using Amazon Smile. Use this link for instructions on how to sign up for Amazon Smile (it’s free!) and choose Carrington Charitable Foundation as your supported organization.
