Westfield Customer Service Assists Damar Services

September 16, 2018

In August, Westfield Associates volunteered at Damar Services in Indianapolis. This organization cares for 1,500 children and adults with disabilities. Dave McCown, Manager, Loan Counseling, CMS, reports that the group — Renee Knight, Heather Osborne, Stanley Strong, Gustavo Garcia, Kenneth Thomas, Kimberly Vasquez, Yadira Cortez, Craig Adkins, and Regina Hale — helped to clean the cafeteria and tidy up outdoor flowerbeds. They also spent time shooting hoops and playing on the playground with some of the younger residents.

Started 50 years ago by two parents wanting the best care for their own children with disabilities, Damar initially had a narrow focus: Care for children with a specific set of needs. Over time, however, Damar broadened its scope to reach out to people of all ages who have developmental and behavioral challenges. Their program remains dedicated to serving clients, ranging from toddlers to senior citizens, as well as their families and caregivers.
