Honoring the Sacrifice American Heroes Dinner
Carrington Charitable Foundation sponsored a table at this year’s American Heroes Dinner on July 13 in Chattanooga, TN, the fifth annual event hosted by the Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation. The evening served as a fundraiser for the organization, which provides direct assistance to severely wounded members of the armed services.
StaciAnn Thompson, executive assistant to Carrington Mortgage Services President Ray Brousseau, attended the event with Associates Dustin Hall, director, Nashville Retail Center; Joe Fink, loan officer; Nicole Gottlieb, loan officer; and Trevor Harrington, sales manager.
Robert J. O'Neill, U.S. Navy, a team leader with the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, and veteran of more than 400 combat missions in four different theaters of war, was the night’s keynote speaker. Robert is the author of The Operator: Firing the Shots that Killed Osama bin Laden and My Years as a SEAL Team Warrior, a New York Times best seller.
“This was the second year I’ve been able to attend this event,” says StaciAnn. “This dinner honors military veterans and brings awareness to the sacrifices they make. I feel like sometimes people who aren’t directly involved with anyone currently serving or who has served, sometimes forget how important these men and women are who are fighting for our freedoms, putting our country first. We should never take that for granted.”
StaciAnn also reports that she was happy to see CCF friend U.S. Army Master Sergeant Cedric King, who also spoke during the dinner. “To hear what he’s gone through [Cedric has two prosthetic legs from combat injuries] and still hear him be so happy and positive was encouraging and incredibly moving,” said StaciAnn, who adds that she hopes to attend this event again next year.
