Westfield CMS Associates Brighten the Holidays

December 20, 2020

The Christmas spirit was on full display in Westfield, IN, on December 12, 2020, when the Late Stage Collections Management Team conducted their No Contact, Drive Up Donation Event on the CMS campus.

This wonderful event was held between 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and was intended to benefit two worthy nonprofit organizations – Homeless Veterans and Families (HVAF) and Toys for Tots.

The appeal that was made to CMS Associates included the following message: “Please give from your heart to help our homeless Veterans and their families who served to preserve our freedom. And during these difficult times, let’s put smiles on the faces of children this Christmas. Let’s show the Westfield CMS Spirit of the Season and make this year brighter for those in need.”

In order to protect the safety of all concerned, donors were able to simply drive up in their car and their donations were received by waiting CMS volunteers – with no physical contact whatsoever! This concern for safety and the amazing generosity of our donors made for a very successful event.

Dozens and dozens of toys were collected for the Tots and badly needed clothing, personal products, and food items were collected for the homeless Vets. In fact, so many items were collected, the team had to rent a U-Haul to deliver the donations! In addition, every CMS Associate who made a donation was eligible to win one of three $50 gift cards. The raffle winners were Kristi Worthman, Robin Winslow, and Kurt Madden.

Homeless Veterans and Families of Indiana has been providing hope and housing for Veterans and their families since 1993. They operate 13 distinct housing properties and they provide outreach services to over 100 homeless Vets a week. Their mission is to prevent homelessness and to return Veterans and their families to self-sufficiency.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation was established by the U.S. Marine Corps in 1991. Its basic mission is to collect new and gently used unwrapped toys and distribute them to less fortunate children at Christmas. Their primary goal is to bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children through the gift of a toy.

After learning about the success of this Westfield event, Elizabeth Balce, EVP, Loan Servicing, had this to say. “I’m blown away by the generosity and support shown here. This is what the holidays are all about. This is flat out amazing!! Thank you one and all!”
